Bike Frame Material??
I am a bit in the dark here. I'm about to make the switch to a road bike for a Mountain Bike (I'm currently living in the city). I had the idea of getting a Giant OCR aluminum framed bike, but after doing some research I discovered people say it is not a smooth ride, and the steel is much more comfortable, and the latest steel frames are getting lighter, so (with the weight to be previously a trap for steel). Anyone can break the differences, and what should I get? I do not want titanium or scandium etc because it must take into account prices. Moreover, what are some good bike steel structures to consider? I would like the STI levers (Brake Levers levels). You will not be getting much for $ 500, and do not really have a choice at that time prices. You will receive the heavy wheels, Sora shifters (which can be only shift of the bells), Taiwanese Tektro components, an aluminum frame, and probably an aluminum fork. You'll be lucky to find a Carbon Fork at that price. Will not disappoint you, but your budget is very low for a new road bike. For some reason, tend to be more expensive than mountain bikes, and there is a large price difference between the budget and starting a decent ride.
