What is this bike worth?
Thinking about buying/trading for the following:
19″ 2004 Trek 4300 for sale with the following extras:
Selle Italia Saddle
Easton Es50 Bars
yeti grips
Judy XC rockshox fork
a new Shimano Deore rear derailure (needs to be installed)
Giro Lance Armstrong helmet ($245 new)
What would you say this set is worth?

Silverbullet, thanks so much for mentioning the size. I ‘m new to biking, so didn’t even think of that.
Actually, this one would be for my husband and he is 6ft.
I will keep the sizing in mind, though, when finding one for myself.
To you? Possibly nothing unless you’re 6′ tall or more. 19″ is a pretty big mountain Bike Frame. Yes, you’ll be able to get on it and set the seat height because of the sloping top tube, but you’ll be pretty stretched out (again, unless you’re really tall…).
$245 helmet?!? Please…. Again, worthless to you unless its the right size. A long shot unless you’ve already tried it on.

With that out of the way, the 4300 is maybe a step or two above entry level, but certainly nothing special, no more than $500 when new. Its a 5 year old machine, likely ridden by a pretty big guy. No way I would buy it without having a close look in person. Replacement bars, shocks, and derailleur suggest a violent altercation with terrain, or at the least, a lot of hard miles. I’d check the frame closely.
In pristine condition, I might go as high as $200, but I’ve got a feeling we’re not talking pristine.
