How to remove a Bike Crank arm?
So I recently asked a question about my bike pedaling becomes one of the cranks were killed [forgot the correct term] the hole for the arm was all out of shape, it became a circle. So now I ask you, where I can buy two new rods? in Vancouver Canada, and could give me an estimated price range? Also I have some questions about how to remove the crank arm in real yes. Please go to the link provided. Thanks http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/696/bicyclecranktz7.png I do not really need to know how to remove the rings, but possibly a simple 1-2-3 guide or guidance on how to remove them would be nice. Thanks for your time.
I'm assuming you have a taper Bottom Bracket square. Shimano http://www.sheldonbrown.com/bbsize.html # (the first photo on the left) You need a crank puller. Sounds like it might also need a new bottom bracket. that would require the right tools. Or a tool support fund for a set of tubes, or a key ring and pin tools, depending whether you have a cartridge bottom bracket, or a cup and cone. to remove the pedals, you need a pedal wrench. you can buy all these tools in a local bike shop, or MEC. It might be cheaper for a bike shop do it, unless you expect to use the tools again. rods start around $ 50 and up a mountain entry-level triples. To remove dishes: you need a hex key set and a screw extractor gear. you have the pump on the side of the bolt with slot then unscrew the other side with the hex wrench. Most dishes come with new connecting rods, so this is probably not necessary. I think Vancouver has a bike collective try not thebikekitchen.com
