Cable Housing
Cable Housing
Can I use the cable jacks in my house for dish network?
We built a new house and there is a cable jack in every room. The house was wired for satellite tv. We have 6 tv’s but we are only getting a 4 room system so I’m wondering if we can use those cable jacks to watch tv in other rooms without receivers.
when you get a 4 room system, that means the dish can only support 4 rooms. So you can get a maximum of 4 different channels at a time. Most of the 4 room setups are leased receivers and can only lease up to 4 rooms. You can get a maximum of 6 rooms in a dishnetwork acct. However will need extra parts and receivers to accomplish this and hence 2 rooms must be purchased. If you are doing this with a retailer, ask them if they can cut you a deal for the extra 2 rooms. If you do this with dish, however, you must purchase the rec for room 5 and 6. Each receiver will run with parts and labor $149. That’s a big drop from the typical approx $320 for each, but unfortunately I cannot say how long this price will last.
