Bmx Bikes

BMX Bikes are bicycles designed specially for racing on hilly and sandy tracks. Apart from racing on undulating terrains, bikers also perform tricks on flat grounds, trails and wooden ramps. Not too long ago, bikes were manufactured with an assembled frame and fork, with two wheels and a seat. BMX bicycles originated in the state of California in the late 60’s, but it was not before the beginning of 1961, that the bikes achieved popularity, and the manufacturers began to produce bicycles frequently. BMX stunts and tricks are presently extremely popular among teenagers. There is a plethora of clubs and organizations where people can come and try their hands out on the BMX bicycles and practice the skills and tricks. With these early practices, the young bikers get acquainted with the possible problems that may occur during the ramp performances.

Tricks are definitely not easy for any biker. The stunts extremely tough to perform. One should go through tough rehearsals, in order to be completely ready. Some of the challenging tricks are like standing on the front pegs, and spinning the rest of the bike around. The really skillful bikers can even summersault in air. The BMX bike producers manufacture bikes with light body. The body of a BMX bike is made of aluminum or chromium and molybdenum for frames and steel for the rims. Aluminum is used also for rims, freewheels and caliper brakes. The 24-inch versions of these bikes are called ‘cruisers’. The frames on BMX bicycles are made to be very light and maneuvered accordingly, therefore, it can weather the blows while racing and jumping. Bikes can be seen with every fashionable bike rider, on sidewalks and in their natural habitat. As opposed to competing, a simple ride would be much more comfortable. While riding, however, you have to be very conscious, and should not make too much experiments with your tricks. Don not forget to wear a helmet whenever riding. what PSI should my tires be for jumping my BMX bike?

I like to bmx and do 3,4,5,and the occasional 6 stairs. I would like to try an 8 stair. right now my tires are at 60psi, should i change it to do an 8 stair?

Air them up to the max the tire will accept….it’s printed on the tire sidewall. You’ll get a little more pop from your bunnyhop with slightly lower pressure, but then you run the risk of pinch flatting and/or dinging up your rim. 8 stairs isn’t that high so you can probably get away with med-high pressures for cushioning as long as you aren’t a heavy rider. If you start going bigger, be sure to air them up high and consider using a wide tire.
